Debut 4 track E.P. release, from umbriel rising. A blend of swirling ambient soundscapes, blistering beats, rocked out guitars, morphed and destructed samples in a progressive style of chill and thrill.

Galactica Nova, makes all the expected moves in the expected ways, not so novel as I would have liked. Having said that there is a reasonable sense of progressive development to the track. Not an unreasonable mix of instrumentation, just nothing overly daring. In fact, quite a tame track for the most part. Quite easy listening and relaxing. Transcendental Void, gets a bit more excitable and feels more confident and far from being a void there seems to be something there. Transcendence thus is a personal experience and I feel a bit at odds with the concept of a nothingness becoming part of a larger holistic sensation.
Freaky Jupiter comes across as a fairly standard 'dance' orientated piece of electronic music. Jupiter is my favourite planet of our local universe, and I think one of the most beautiful. Holst did it justice, whereas I feel that this one does not quite make the grade. All the same, I am quite demanding and the track picks up as it progresses, making a bit more of itself along the way. It is 'freaky' after all!-) Opus r, has a dual personality. One is a reasonable instrumental layer, and the other is a pretty dreadful expression in the form of twisted vocal samples. When the voices stop, I actually quite like it as a track. Has some nice structure to it and the deeper voice sample is better than the munchkin one at the beginning. Then, suddenly about halfway through it reappears, much to my disappointment. I cannot help but feel it belittles what is an otherwise fairly decent track. Overall, not bad.
