    • Borut Praper: Producer.
    • KUD NOR: Publisher.

SUR as a group began to take shape in the end of the year 2001 after its founder finished writing and producing the music for the theatre performance Lust by the director and choreographer Sebastjan Starič. In the context of this project the first versions of some of the tracks included on this album were created, sung at that time by Urška Samec and Mojca Žerjal. Encouraged by the feedback, the group continued working on their debut "physical" album (CD release). In the summer of 2002 the singer Neža Trobec - Teropšič joined the team.

Na jug was the first "tangible" album by SUR, recorded, produced, mixed, mastered, and published by the band itself. The material focused strongly on sound, production and arrangements.

Na jug features the work of the full-time members of SUR:
- Neža Trobec Teropšič: vocals
- Monika Fritz: backing vocals and additional lyrics
- Marko Djukić: lyrics, additional music and arrangement
- Jure Praper: guitar
- Borut Praper: music, arrangement, keyboards, programming, production, additional lyrics

as well as several guest musicians and frequent collaborators:
- Rok Predin: additional lyrics and guitar
- Matevž Šalehar: additional vocals
- Vasko Atanasovski: soprano saxophone, flute
- Stojan Kralj: bass guitar, fretless bass guitar, additional guitar, additional music
- Janez Vouk: trumpet
- Jelena Ždrale: violin
- Aljaž Tulimirović: additional music
- Samo Pečar: additional music

The tracks of this album are published under a Creative Commons licence, check the licence associated to each track.

I enjoyed this album a lot. It reminds me for some reason of "Dead Can Dance" (and I really liked their music). Also, I think it's great that SUR performs in their native language, even if some of us don't understand it. I don't think anyone here is complaining about it, I just want to encourage artists to perform in the language they prefer (this is not the eurovision song contest or something). I included SUR's track "Zarja" in episode 37 of my chillout podcast, "Expand Your Musical Horizons." This episode includes quite a few Jamendo artists. You can listen to it or download it for free from iTunes, or directly from here: http://www.keyboard-graphics.com/AAC/downtempo_37.m4a Please write to me if the .m4a format is bad for you...I will create an MP3 version soon.

The music is dark, eclectic.. And the vocal... Vocal is beautiful and hypnotic! Well, most of us didn't understand words, but the whole album is something to must have! Best regards, Nerevarine
