About this album

  • Updated: 19/02/2009

Pondlife Fiasco is quite dark but some of the tracks have an positive upside. Drums are a lot rockier than the previous  Heifervescent albums and there's a bit more overdrive on tracks such as Deep Sea Diver. All the tracks have prominent melodies and are led my shimmering guitars, strings and subtle hints of brass and flutes.

Opening the album, "When the stars fall from grace" is heavily laden with jangly guitars over acoustics. The song's about a hapless guy who can't do anything right for his lover. The more he tries, the more desparate he looks, the more desparate he looks, the less she feels for him. He goes away where he can't do any more damage, but still feels he can't do any good for anyone.

The 90's called. They're wondering why their revolutionary artist didn't show up back then. All jokes aside, brilliant music. The sound quality is exceptional, the beats lure you in, the melody keeps you there every step of the way. It was enough to inspire me as an amateur to really push and write music. If you listen to nothing else on Jamendo, listen to this album. Start to finish. No joke.

I love it! "We`ve got to plug you in" ist mein Lieblingsstück!

When I listened to Deep Sea Diver it reminded me of Into the Ocean by Blue October. It gives a sense of depression but in an upbeat way. The style of music between the two is very similar but in their own unique way.
