Un album qui sent bon la fin des années 70 (celles du punk hein, pas du disco)... y compris dans cette voix pas forcement juste (ca parait même exagéré !) mais qui passe pourtant très bien. Alors ça ne casse pas les conventions, c'est du déjà entendu (notamment Franz Ferdinand qui semble être une influence majeure)... Mais il y a une vraie âme "pas prise de tête" dans cet opus, un côté festif et communicatif, qui émane de tous les titres. Prise de son et mixage très rèussi. Ce ne doit pas être fait exprès mais 4 mesures BOSD sotn une copie conforme du groupe Ange sur l'album Par les fils de Mandrin, et le son génral fait d'ailleurs penser à cet album de rock progessif français datant de 1976. Bon titre et pur plaisir à écouter dans la voiture à fond en allant bosser ! Kincky Carmen, plus funk-rock (riff de guitare), toujours ce plaisir manifeste de faire de la musique de la part du groupe, plaisir que l'auditeur s'approprie à son tour à l'écoute. Put Gabi on TV, encore une petite bombe ce morceau. Toujours cette influence de Franz Ferdinand et une reférence au punk garage des années76-79. Your glamourous life. Ca semble être une blague tellement c'est cliché ce titre. Et pourtant, c'est efficace. Le moins bon moreceau de l'album quand même. Enfin Almost real joy... Quand on écoute ce morceau pour la première fois, l'intro interpelle un peu... et puis dès la 2ème écoute on se laisse entrainer. Un vrai morceau rock avec ses parties calmes puis bien décapantes, séparées par 3 petits coups secs. Ca tourne vraiment bien. La manière de pose la voix fait parfois penser à Morisson. Bref, une vraie bonne surprise sur Jamendo. A noter aussi que la jaquette attire bien l'oeil (couleurs et conception graphique originale) et donne vraiment envie de plonger dans l'univers de Röntgenschall.

Wow. When I first saw the cover of Röntgenschall's Hot & Wunderbar I thought the 118 118 guys had recorded an album. But don't let the moustaches fool you - this is a great listen. You could say that it's a bit of a mix of Franz Ferdinand and Gogol Bordello. It's art rock meets gypsy punk. Or maybe I'm just completely off the mark here. According to their wiki entry on last.fm the band calls it 'Wicked German Moustache Rock'. I guess that's fitting. And what sets Röntgenschall apart from other bands is that they play all over the world without leaving Germany. Yup, they play on your website or blog. That's if the fan club members think you're worthy and vote you as one of the coolest fans. Their songs are Internet related as well. Like falling in love with Kincky Carmen from spam emails. Or Your Glamorous Life which is dedicated to bloggers. Nuts. In a good way. OK, I'm off now to join their fan club and maybe I'll get a gig for my blog.

I had just forgotten your album I once put in my favorites after a discovery session... You guys just rock, your music is so enjoyable it must put a smile on every listener's face, like the one it put on mine. I'm hungry for another album. BTW if you start touring in real countries, don't forget France, and you'll obviously see me at you show ;-) Don't thank the Internet, Internet thanks you !

Attracted by the (superb)cover, i decide to take a listen to the EP. And what an album ! Short, but powerful. Songs like "Put Gabi On TV" or "Kincky Carmen" are really good, arrangements and composition, all is good and involving ! Production is perfect, it shows the group's professionalism, but fun is always present. As good as Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys, but with most freshness and (maybe) insanity ! I will by soon your album, artists like you must be remunerated (and it isn't expensive). Now you take place on my walkman (and there aren't too many on a 512 Mo) with FF, Kaiser Chiefs, Daft Punk and Santana ;) So, as you can see, now i'm a Röntgenschall fan.

Gesungen wie gekotzt, aber absolut passend zu diesem Genre. Macht richtig Freude zuzuhören und meiner Meinung nach beherrschen die Jungs diesen Punkstil mindestens so gut wie die Großen aus der damaligen Zeit.

On retourne à la fin des années 70, début des années 80. Le chanteur n'hésite pas à pousser un peu (beaucoup) la voix et pourtant l'ensemble de l'album passe plutôt très bien. Du punk criard qui au passage met bien la pêche et ça c'est le petit effet kissskool

Un excellent album rock, qui à ce ce que vois, a beaucoup de succès. Et je comprends pourquoi ! C'est un excellent rock puissant et dynamique ! l'instrumentation est typique et bien maitrisée. La voix du chanteur correspond parfaitement au style rock ! Il chante juste et clairement et sans hésiter à pousser sa voix pour "délirer" ! C'est très professionnel, en concert, ça doit pas mal donner ! Continuez !

...all I know is it does. For me at least. Amped up polka played by guys with fake moustaches? By all accounts, it should be terrible, but somehow it bucks the odds. Take some (early) Stranglers and maybe the Buzzcocks plus something like The Dead Milkmen. Stir well and let them perform 'The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down'. I do appreciate this kind of trash. More of this bitteschön! Unfortunately their running gag of excessive eierlikör-drinking (when touring the internet) is very, very boring.
