A Small Pile of Stars is a lovely start to this EP, nicely arranged. Like the drums. The second track, Pi, gets off to a wonderful start, great intonation for a mathematical concept, prefer the music to the maths, though that has its place in the grand scheme of things. Albeit so anthropomorphic. Again, another good arrangement of sound and rhythm, very enjoyable. That tempo is carried through into the next track, enigmatically called DthsdR. Is it where I start, when the reaper comes, or I feel him near. The end of a new beginning, opening the door and passing through the veil into another existence, but essentially a continuation in a different form. 999, ups the rate a bit, though retains the overall thread and essence of this EP. There are mountains and molehills. The last track, 448, is a kind of summing up of all that has gone on before it. Faster paced, so that it can pack it all in, which I feel it does well enough. Quite a nice sense of energy and a good point to finish on, what is in a number anyway. Nice as pie!-)
