Rebentisch is a pure wave project. Concentrating on this has given the berlin band around mastermind Sven Rebentisch a fast growing audience and has made them an insiders tip within the scene. Rebentisch's songs are a constant companion to many fans wherever they go, whether it's the dancefloor or the terrace in moonlight.
Meantime the complete back catalogue of Rebentisch is sold out. Lucky thus, who owns the publications of earlier days. Lucky as well is the waiting waver, for Rebentisch brings the goodies in spring 2009: the new album unites all of the strengths of Rebentisch and takes the listeners on a journey through the eighties with side trips to the present and future.
"Herz zerrissen" ("torn heart") paints sounds with a wide spectrum from dreamy ("Die Suche"/the search) to fast forward ("Erinnerungsfetzen"/fractions of memory). Old school analog sounds and pleasant waveguitars are mixed with the electronic sound of the new millenium. While some tracks remind one of Welle:Erdball or Derriere Le Miroir, the various remixes sound like Massive Attack or Portishead. The core of the album are poetical german lyrics of a rare quality.
If Anne Clark would sing in german with And One as her band, if she'd be pure New Wave and if Robert Smith would play guitar in this imaginary all-star-band, Rebentisch would have real competition. Until that happens New Wave fans with a love for lyric have no other choice: Rebentisch it is.

Hallo Kollege!
Wave, sehr elektronischer Wave mit deutschen, poetischen und sehr persönlichen Texten! Ein tolles Album, irgendwo zwischen dunklem Synthpop von Wolfsheim und den düsteren Gefilden von Das Ich. Ein wenig fühle ich mich an alte Zeiten erinnert, denn solche Musik habe ich lange nicht mehr als Neuveröffentlichung gehört. Neben den gut arrangierten Melodien und Sounds und den tanzbaren Beats fallen immer wieder die sehr intensiven Texte auf. Das ist einerseits sehr mutig und andererseits sehr gut gelungen (ausser Erinnerungsfetzen, was mir zu sehr avantgarde ist).
Wir haben einen echten Nachbarn getroffen.
Synthesiser Pop, new wave music, that is great it sit back and enjoy, let alone dance to. I love this guys strong vocals on this album. Very professional sounding and excellent sound quality as well.
Schönes Album für die etwas ruhigeren und nachdenklichen Tage.
Das ist sicher: Vor etwa 20 Jahren wäre das mindestens auf einem "Zillo"-Sampler gelandet, wenn nicht sogar auf der Titelseite. Das ist nicht böse gemeint - dem Vorredner kann man nur zustimmen: lange nicht gehört.
Das Album lohnt sich!

I must say that Rebentisch is the best band that I have found in Jamendo. Really I like they very much, remind me 80´s sounds and mixing of Wolfsheim and Роботы but with your oun style. Sorry for the bad english and congratulations, I listen you very much ^^
Schwankt irgendwie zwischen banal und doch sehr interessant. Auch wenn mir die Texte manchmal eher nicht so recht poetisch erscheinen wollen und die recht elektronische Musik auch nicht so ganz meine Domäne ist, so hat das Album aber doch einen ganz eigenen Charme ganz abseits von all dem weichgespülten Kram in TV und Radio..!
Nur die Remixes gefallen mir irgendwie überhaupt nicht, da wurde mir zuviel weggemixt...
Mir gefällt der Mix aus Beats und dem Gesang, den man hier doch nicht ganz erwartet hätte.
Auch die Texte sagen mir zu.
Ich will jetz aber gar nich weiter wiederholen was die anderen schon gesagt haben...
