About this album

  • Updated: 24/04/2009

This album is a collaboration between Mischapex (Mischa van Balgooy) and 4-Bit Microcomputer (Daniel Marchese) It contains 3 originals, 3 remixes of those originals and 2 4-to-the-floor acid techno tracks.

A year ago Mischapex and 4-Bit Microcomputer met on myspace and started making tracks and remixes. Both are big acid/303 lovers.(4-Bit owns a real 303!)

Working together and  making remixes of existing tracks freshes up their musical creativity and style. All tracks mastered by Mischapex. Album cover by 4-Bit Microcomputer.

ottimo album a quattro mani...si nota una certa differenza di "stile" fra le composizioni di Mischapex e Microcomputer...più exp ambient il primo più orientanto al 4-bit il secondo...cosa che fa bene al risultato finale. bravi. ciao Simone

Acid Mixtape (4-Bit Microcomputer), good track, wish I was more fluent in French. Just been listening to Coldcut's 'Boot the system', and there are some similarities in technology perhaps, I'm not sure but it seems to fit. Then we have Mischapex with I Shall Be Dead, a thought that crosses my mind occasionally, as I'm sure many others. The trick is not to brood and get morbid, but make the most of the short time we have, and listening to this lovely track makes me thankful for not being dead yet. 8 a.m. is quite a mellow construction, well done I think, very likeable. Acid Mixtape (Mischapex Remix) I found slightly preferable but I think it is mainly because I feel less linguistically challenged by it, and it is a decent remix as well. The 4-Bit Microcomputer Remix of I Shall Be Dead is suitably technologised and a fine track in itself. No morbidity, just acceptance of the inevitable. Again, good pairing up here as Mischapex deftly reworks 8 a.m., beefing it up a bit and just as likeable in its own way. Acid Countdown is very acid indeed, nicely done. As for the last track, it rounds the album off nicely and makes me think of my introduction to acid. No, not the guy with the mohican selling tabs, I think it was The Shamen just before En-Tact, not the really early stuff, kind of in the middle. Good memories, good trips, good album.
