(Cvijaxo june 2004)

Idea for this mini album comes direct from my collaboration and e-mail communication with Ivan1984 - the man who reviewed us all. Curiosity is that last track  "End of Life" was made first for this purpose and I simply dropped it depressed of the thing (It was named differently).  After decision to make "The short album about living" (life is short), I came back to it ,reworked it, and it is now one of my favorites and it makes good frame with first one. It's almost 60% done of Ivan's voice so I consider him as co-author :-).

I know that some of you will see this thing like stylistic prostitution. But hey, what else life is abaut ;-).  I recommend listening whole thing as one loose conceptual track, else you'll miss little ironies and hidden jokes. Think about it. Life should not be taken too seriously - we'll all die anyway :-).

BIG Thanks to Ivan for his kindness, patience and TIME.

This album is for my brother who once said that I make boring things without rhytm .-). It was actually he who introduced me to Jamendo. Thanks bro :-)

It's also for Simone and Timmy and all other soundcrafters on Jamendo who, through their music and comments, gave me courage to publish things like Suburbia and Hard work of life (Suburbia 2).

YES LIFE IS ONLY A GAME !

Things are funny -not a joke, nor even LoL (I hate this expression because when someone uses it I never know wether the man laughs at himself or his own joke, or if he’s fooling me with a joke I am supposed to understand). Ivan1984 asked me to listen to this album. I usually don’t listen to this kind of work. But it happens that I appreciates Ivan very much for his reviews and for who he is, not to mention the fact that while listening to Uberlulu’s album « Communist » I fell in love with his voice (damn Brit !) Why, because I love the way British people speak their language, at least the way Ivan does ! Why, because when I returned to France after living in the States, my father offered a four weeks stay in a family in Ewell near Epsom ‘cause he wanted me to get rid of my american accent. I love the language, most of my culture (musics, readings, etc) is Anglo-Saxon. When I heard Ivan speaking in that album… well, now you understand ! And here am I listening to this album. I am a curious guy, but if not for Ivan, I would have never approched this genre of work. And I like it ! Because the music says things in which I believe : life is a game whose rules we all determined before coming to play. When we are young, we put so much expectations in life, and we do our best to take as much advantage as possible out of it, making mistakes, enjoying successes and feeling bad when we loose what or whom we love. But we give so much value to things – and ourselves - that are only parts of our game : back to the true Life when this game is over ! And this album tells it all in its own way. Of course, here I don’t enjoy Ivan’s voice as I expected to. But it does not matter much, ‘cause listening to this album brought to me all these personal thoughts I share with you as Ivan and Cvijaxo share with us their work. It is very interesting, good sounds, rhythms and voice, some sort of meditation of its own I was happy to experience. THANKS TO YOU TWO.

There is only 1 thing that got to me, otherwise I would've given it a perfect 10. At the beginning of 'Game of Life' the beat seemed a bit off...but after awhile it got better, much better. Very nice work!! I look forward to more!

Do not remember I said that it is boring, just that I miss some rhythm. I'm more in creative commons than in creating music, so I,m very glad that CC concept works for you an Jamendo in general. What I like: looks like there is some thinking involved in your crating. I could clearly see some concept, even I'm not always sure I'm following it. Am I even supposed to? I like collaboration. I believe in collaboration. Collaboration fait la révolution. Like voices and melodies. Functions well as conscious listening act and as bus muzak. Not sure I like: well if I told you that I miss some rhythm in your creations I certainly did not meant on kind dance-techno etc. I will gwet it as a joke. I do not necessarily meant that I miss rhythm machine kind of rhythm. One could clearly see a progress. Keep looking bro.

Normally I wouldn't review this type of music as I do not have a great understanding for non melodic works,However I had the chance to free up some time and Explore new styles and I really enjoyed this album. It beams with a special type of energy but keeps the decadence in the background with the occasional separation from reality, just to return to it. After having spoken to the author this works makes complete sense to me. Bravo

A nice production in association with soft techno ambient synths and rhythms… It’s a well thought out album, sounds interesting sometimes with very strange hypnotic effects. What I like especially on this album is the own style!!! Cheers C.J.ROGERS

What we can follow here is the growth of an artist. Great ideas, big enthusiasm, superb musical feel, full of energy. Your brother can be proud, and so can you. I see great developments in structuring the sounds, the balance between melody and rhythm (stays the big struggle indeed, could be a bit more modest/varying in som tracks, and a bit more present in others), and also some fine use of the great voice from Ivan, who slowly will slip through this community as a very welcome and healthy flue. Expectations is a very very fine piece, and promises great things ahead. It's hard work i like too, very well done,a nice reflective autumn, a very fine diverse album, superb finish, and keep on this great flow you're in.

A lovely piece of experimental ambient work, with rhythm!-) A pleasure to be in on the act, as ever an honour to be able to be part of artists creativity. Nice work Cvijaxo. Here's to the history of the future, forever beyond our comprehension. Thanks for sharing.
