Firstly, get that piano professionally tuned. My ears are too sensitive to such things. I can hear that you have ability in your playing, but you need to get someone to show you how to get your feelings through the keys. I don't know how many lessons you have had, but the piano, a great instrument, requires a special touch. I'm not saying you can't achieve this, but your all too often stabbing at the keys instead of allowing your true emotion to follow into your playing. Perhaps your concentration is being affected trying to sing and play at once. Don't get me wrong, you have a feel for music and a nice creativity, but you playing definitely needs work.
Secondly, you singing is suffering also. Again, it may be because you'r concentrating on your playing, but although your voice has potential to be great, it is lacking a true feel. I got the impression I was listening to another wanna-be "American Idol" who thinks they can sing, but really can't. Just an impression mind you Elle. You do have talent. I can voice has a nice tone and is often well controlled, but you must get a teacher to bring out the best in you.
I know it can be nerves, even when recording stuff when you're alone, but I think in this case you need to work on one aspect at a time. Maybe even getting together with a couple of others in a band situation would be better so you can concentrate on your voice better. Your voice is what is best, the guitar and piano as just helping along with you carrying out the song, so anyone can play that for you.
Finally, you have to mike up properly. There's nothing worse than straining to hear words or instruments that are trying to make an impression. I think "Illogic" is my favorite song. It has a nice feel about it, but again, the voice and guitar need work.
Don't get put off Elle. You have it in you. Just need the right teacher to get it out correctly. Find a good guitarist and piano player and concentrate on your voice, for now at least. Keep writing those songs. All the best.
