A bright beginning. Then, a dancing onslaught of brighter insects. Throughout, this album comes over as very light and bright. There are some nice variations, though the essential optimistic air remains strong. Curiously, when you get to Carefree Track, it seems less, or it is an audio illusion, wherein because of its surroundings, being carefree is not so different to the essence of the greater whole. United, is a strange word. Change two letters around, and you have the opposite meaning. Again, a positively buoyant piece of music. There seems to be an entertaining encapsulation of motivation in Take a Fast Stroll. As the album continues, with Faint Horizon, and it seems that through all this illumination, there are some very subtle ideas captured. It is gentle and relatively easy to absorb. There I think it makes it in the sense of 'chillout', in a genuine manner. Where it makes 'new' ground I think is in the various subjects interpreted in a calm, musical manner, where it is soft but strong. Layers of Drifting has a lovely intonation, and actually works very well. The whole album does just sort of drift and settle gently into the convolutions of the ear channels, with a very calming effect. Rainbow Glaze, is like a subtlety refined. The finish, with Light At The End, is somewhat like a sad farewell. Overall, a nice album, interesting and very mild on the senses.
