About this album

  • Updated: 30/03/2007

Metropolitan Innovation Richest Population is a fresh sound that brings some good ideas to the Italian indie music scene. We love TR606 is the true icon of the disc, IMHO. Funky sound, moving crescendo, and perfect moments of silence. Each instrument gets its space, they fuse together very nicely, starting from the bass line, which has sounds decent even by itself, that giving great spirit to the song' structure. The guitar does what it's supposed to be doing. Distorted and electronic crazy sounds. I particularly like the fact that in this song the voice is used as an instrument more than a container of words, giving the music much more value. Their best song so far. So... has a great intro, you'll go crazy. After that it the voice becomes a bit boring, but the good job of the guitar stands up. What's the wave has a "low quality sound" drum intro, but after the bass and the guitar come along the song takes off. Good for leaving is a ballad "andante", not bad, not particularly good. Not their field, more Aphex Twin and less pop ballads, please! Escape is an excellent piece. This is where they have to head and look for: synthesizers, a little echo in a slightly voice, electro fusions and rock influences coming along. Way to go. The overall sound is kind of intriguing, you can definitely tell these kids have talent and ideas. Even though there's only three of them, they sound like four most of the times. Very promising, they've got potential, let's see will they be in five years from now.
