About this album

Opcode-1 is the first EP to be released by Partition 36. On it are three new tracks (numbers 1, 2, and 6), as well as a remix (track 3), and two remastered tracks from way before Partition 36 existed. For the new songs, a decision was made soon after (incf partition-36) was finished to change the style of music just slightly to focus more on melody. In the end, the new songs on Opcode-1 are a little more pop or new-age sounding.

Track 3 is a remix of ROT13, which was first released on (incf partition-36).

Track six uses samples from the Going Linux podcast by Larry Bushey and Tom Chaudoir, which is released under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 License.

The tracks of this album are published under a Creative Commons licence, check the licence associated to each track.

Repetitive, amateur sound

This album is definitely the work of an amateur or hobbyist. Every song is composed of a two synthesized audio loops and a simple improvised melody. There are no clever variations, and no real beat. I don't want to discourage the artist, however. Hopefully his/her future work will show improvement.
