Hailing from Galway, Ireland is one Ventolyn & Becotyde who brings us “[Audissect]“, a 22 track opus that tickles your ears gently with its warm synths, kicks you in the face with basslines (see “Bass Tamers System Lick”) whilst the fractured glitchy beats shine like glass shards. Suffice to say it’s got many sides to its form.

[Audissect] comes on like an album of many moods, yet always retains its “wholeness”. We have a feeling there are nothing but better things to come from this artist but for now we have this to wrap our heads around. An absolute sonic delight in the headphones, [Audissect] is now available for free download from Section 27, and Jamendo.

This is a really awesome release. Fresh, unique style and well composed. I see a lot of sweet melodic ambient (called IDM) and a bunch of noisy, chaotic, experimental stuff out there. This is just as IDM should be - we have a beat, melody, atmosphere, but still it is abstract and avantgarde. Hats off dude!

Dieses Album hat viel mit Richard Wagners Ring der Nibelungen zu tun (Mal nur die Walküre gemeint) - Mehr als 90% sind gerade so zu ertragen und dann gibt es diese Stellen, wo man sich fragt, warum hört sich nicht das Gesamtwerk so gut an? So z.B. das Ende von "Bit7opl8" ab 2:23 oder "Winding Helix" ab 1:08 bis 1:50; "Alkalinear Distances" genial, aber nur bis 1:19 "Sodium City Sprawl" ist excellent - idm und glitch getarnt als vernünftiges Lied, gefällt mir. "Dream Tasked Pillow" wäre in meinem Vergleich Wagners "Götterdämmerung" - solide von Anfang bis Ende.. leider nicht wie in der Oper bei anderer Gelegenheit wiederholt. Richard Wagner brauchte für seinen Ring 25 Jahre. Vielleicht hätten ein paar Tage arbeit Audissect gut getan. Dennoch.. Danke, Ventolyn and Becotyde, für diese zwei Lieder und für die inspirierenden Stellen in den anderen Liedern! =)
