Great music!!! Good to listen and to dance
I dare you to listen to this wonderful African style percussion/music and not get up and move those legs of yours. Why, move your whole body! Gotta move to this. It is really good!
I have been looking for World music like this, as the school I teach in is brimming with refugees and immigrants from all over the world. Many of our children are from Kenya, Somalia, and elsewhere in Africa. We have African drummers come and perform for us sometimes, but it would be nice to have a little collection on CD's to play for all of our children as we are trying to broaden their horizons.
Does anyone know anything about what regions of Africa this music came from? Africa is a big continent with many countries and customs.
- well I won't follow it every day, but from time to time (when painting larger formats, he whispered).
These are the instruments, used in the real way, to show how few (and how much at the same time) you need to make music that involves the whole listener
(and sure thing, the whole musician..).
Confusion engulfs me at the beginning with all the overwhelming noise. As the music progresses however it picks up the authentic African beat that is ever relaxing and energizing at the same time.
