MOTI ARMONICI

                                                               UNO

                    L'apparente entropia diviene autonomamente forma.

Alfonso Tregua suona strumenti MIDI, synth, percussioni

Musical Rain! It sounds like rain falling on a hudge electronic pad... A fractal image is a representation of a mathematic formula, so perhaps can I figure out that these sounds represent the electronic relaxing of excited electrons... or ... or ... A "feeling experience" cannot be teached (sorry Melchiades...) A music is whatever you decide to do with... Fractal confusing ? Wanna get a thrill with a "fractal boom-boom hard techno trans-dance, huh ? Get fooled ? I really do love such "tech" tribal music, but it's not the matter here... Your music is very interesting! Thank you Mr. Alfonso Tregua !

Harmonic Motion?

I am at now in a complete incomprehension because of the album's title, the fractal on cover and the music, music or sound expérience. Everything creates more and more confusions in there. It begins with 'sestetto zen' another paradox, since there is nothing zen but more aggravating (in my opinion.) The other tracks of your concerto are the same to me, i can't listen more. So i skip directly to track 5 'raggi alfa' Well, i can't say anything on your experiment, sorry. Finally the last song seems to contain some harmony (referring to the title of the album) but after one minute, it is sadness :-( Sorry mister Tregua, i don't understand your work... Can you give more infos to your listeners about the experience, it could be great. Grazie. Melki

I can see the point about the titling of the tracks and the feel that there is a suite of music on offer, with bonus tracks. The first 'part', Sestetto Zen is a lovely composition that is easy on the ears certainly. Trio Vivace seems more tight in delivery, not so loosely bound as the first movement. Again, very nice, easy listening. The third part, Ricordanza, is a slow motion piece, with a different tempo that is tenuously strung together. The Finale - Presto, is a conclusive summation of all that has gone on before it. Delectable. Raggi Alfa, as has been said, presents the sense with a fairly different sound, although there are some similarities evident but used with different instrumentation and accompanying flair. Nice minimalism with progression, which is sometimes lost in repetition of this kind of music. The final piece has a gentler sense of musical poetry to it, softer on the senses, which can work both ways over a ten minute time span (or more). The drone referred to in the genre listing becomes evident but it takes on a harmonic aspect in an almost symphonic manner, alleviating the sparse melody when it thins in places it conjoins in harmony. Then, towards the end the minimal drum beat pulls the conjunction into form, to revert to a section of counterpoint, which actually works quite well. Nicely achieved.

I find describing this album quite difficult. The instrumentation is simple and the first four tracks comprise of bells and synthesizer(s) which easily fit together well. The last two contain nostalgic synthesizers which may not be for everyone, but I personally love the minimalism on display. The titles of the last two tracks differ from the first numbered 4, as does the music so I'll describe them separately. The numbered tracks could almost be labeled easy listening. It is true that they're easy to the ear, but the melodies are not so easy on the mind. The overall direction of the songs is quite subtle with the complexity of what the instrumentation is playing over the top of the base melody. This is where I understood why the instrumentation had to be kept simple, there's already a great deal happening in the piece to keep track of. I forgot the textures and sounds of the instruments to focus on the notes being played. Though relatively unconventional, I enjoyed this musical style which is quite unique as far as my listening goes. The last two tracks contain few instruments and focus on the melodies in a straightforward manner. I like the timing on the 5th and the Orchestron-style (Kraftwerk among others) sound of the 6th. I'm only giving this a 7 because it's short and not innovative instrumentally, though admittedly it's not trying to be. The music really is lovely - subtle yet rewarding.

Questa recensione è anche qui: http://suonolibero.wordpress.com/2008/02/25/alfonso-tregua-moti-armonici-dal-gioco-al-dolore/ The first four songs are nice so minimal and cool.... like a game of pearls between rays of the sun. In the song "Raggi Alfa" there is density, repetition and fixity, perhaps too much. Even if I find consistent with the alpha radiation ... is in my opinion a trial for a few listeners. In the song "Il lungo addio" there is a tremendous consistency between the song's title and the emotion that arouses. Indeed, thinking to a memory of an emotional loss we are induced to fixity of remembrance to the point of pain. Even though this track is so effective that it is not for a wide audience.
