About this album

  • Updated: 14/05/2007

What first attracted me to this album was the cover. I love the cover. It's simple and effective, with a minimalistic and very stylish design. This album mixes genres like hardcore techno, trip-hop, industrial, and dance. I really liked the first song, "Erotique", it had a really nice beat and it was somewhat dark. The speed of the first song was just my taste, it had a beat similar to many trip-hop songs and it had an industrial sound to it. After the first song, the songs became much, much faster-- I'm not really into speedy music. The first song was trip-hop and after that, the songs changed to hardcore techno. Overall, the bulk of this album isn't the type of music I listen to (but I didn't take points off for that). The quality is good, but I would've liked to hear more diversity in the songs-- maybe more audio samples. Repetition in this type of music is normal, but with too much repetition you can loose the listener's attention. I didn't like the song "Bad Dreams"-- though I rarely like remixes or remakes-- it's just a personal preference. I really liked the first song, though, and I would love to hear more songs like that. This album is a quality debut album and shows that this artist has potential-- I'll be interested to see what the artist's next album sounds like! Great job! :)

I agree with a lot of Wait4the1 had to say, for instance the first track did kind of stand out on its own. However, I think Neurasthenique onwards begins to show much more potential. I myself, am not overly keen on hyperdrive music, although, as was also said before, it has it's place and is not reason enough to mark down. I think a bit more experimentation could knit together what potential I believe I can see. However, it's not for me to decide such things. Was that really a Eurythmic snippet? We will have to wait and see what comes of Noize-R and their further productivity. So, votes for Erotique all round and I will support Decomposition Sonore as my personal favourite!-)
