About this album

    • Schweizer-Gerth, Wolf: Label, Arrangement, Producer.

After my daughter Judith made this wonderful portrait for a bluesalbum cover (www.light-fotoshootings.de) as a birthday present for me. I try to make an similar good bluesalbum ;-)

Behind one week in the swiss mountains (special thanks for my wife Ulrike & sun Jan for this time for free), one evening in the rehearsal room & one summer evening session in my car. ;-)
I be glad to present you the new CD MIDLIFE BLUES.

Similar to my other CD's I changed the styles from blues, over folk,  some kind of spacemusic with german & english lyrics (I'll think my english teacher maybe  become some crisis?).

Special Thanks also to Michael Taylor from Ontario (www.michaeltaylor.ca) for his super locomotive breath sounds ;-)

By now enough with with much words and have a lot of fun, haering my CD. If you like a Christmas Editon with booklet, please look under  www.sandsofa.de.

"black jack" had a nice acoustic guitar sound with some great harmonica play. "hoffnung" had good piano work in the background. Perfectly placed and mixed. "flug nach meringo" was chilled, with acoustic guitar and dragging vocals. "big big bang" sounded very basic, with ok vocals, but not much else and I found "walking blues" a bit too repetitive. "against chaos" had the usual weaving harmonica which was well played but I felt it was struggling to save this track. Another sound would have been welcomed in this piece. "wunder zu erzählen" had a smoothing sound with vocals to match. The acoustic backing was well played and this was a classical folk piece. "haben haben es" had an upbeat folk sound with that now expected weaving harmonica. Nice pace and good style. "night has come" shown a great bit of acoustic guitar playing that has been well thought out. I could image night approaching as I listened to this. Great inspiration. hilbillie_hobo_lobo_instrumental" was relaxing with very minimal but very nice and pure music with great acoustic guitar playing. This folk album reminded me of a sixties/seventies style of folk that I enjoyed in my youth. With the move towards forever faster and more hi-tec sounds, this is a welcomed departure. Play this album while having a quiet drink with friends or on your ipod while strolling through the park. A great album for getting back to basic music and setting a relaxing mood. Lots of acoustic guitar work often with strummed open chords. Probably derided by some, but this worked well for Bob Dylan. Good pure music and a great album for mood setting.

- get LUCKY
