Somewhat Dated, But Good

This is an early offering of Tequila Mockingbird, and some of the material does sound somewhat dated. What does shine through, though, is the fact that lead singer Wendy Clark can hold her own with other peers; such as Pat Benatar or Joan Jett. She has a straightforward approach to the lyrics and adds a touch of "been there-hated that" to songs such as "Existential Baby" and "The More I Drink." The band members keep a steady beat going, and the bass player keeps a good driving bassline going. No one hogs the show, all play well, and no sense of egotism is heard. If you like early 90's rock, with a slight touch of alt-country, this album is for you!
