Il m'aura fallu plusieurs écoutes pour apprécier cet album à sa juste valeur,moi, qui dans un premier temps l'avait trouvé conventionnel.Ce qui est bien loin d'être le cas. Musique expérimentale certes, mais musique d'une grande densité,extrêmement profonde, d'une grande richesse harmonique et rythmique. Musique fascinante à l'image de Ra, le Grand Dieu Soleil.

Now, I always like an electronic music listening challenge and so when this came on site with comments like “experimental and uneasy” I was up for it. Having played it a few times I find myself with something of a dilemma but first the piece itself. It begins in eerie fashion. You could be standing atop a foggy shrouded tor, close by is a hidden spacecraft testing its engines and readying itself for take-off. Suddenly silence and then away it goes into the upper heavens. It's journey continues apace with a variety of musical detours and close encounters of varied kinds. You take in the classics like KS and the Tangs, the masters like Vorhaus and Watkins. Add a little JMJ and even some Phrozenlight. A stash of Berlin takes over from the earlier modulations as you travel in style through the decades. All in all, a good piece. Well recorded, nicely produced and suffering only the occasional blip when one movement jars at its meeting with the next. Now for the dilemma. I found the whole piece very mainstream. It was not unconventional; it was quite easy to listen to and, for me, no challenge at all. Compare this work to that of the many Polish Jamendo contemporaries of this artist (Cezar and Ptarkh to name but two) and this release comes across as a very straightforward work. Make of it all what you will. I liked it but more in the way of a blended Scotch whisky, better watered down, than that of a complex Single Malt, to be sipped and savoured. Thanks for the release and, as I have said before, Jamendo says "good" equates to 7. So 7 it is.
