About this album

  • Updated: 11/07/2007

Underground producer Cartel, one half of the Hoodgrown Productions duo, makes his debut with a throwback album of sorts. Combing hard beats provided by him and "real" lyrics from some of illest new upcoming artists on the scene, Cartel's Prepare For Glory represents a time when hip hop was still about "beats & rhymes".

The tracks of this album are published under a Creative Commons licence, check the licence associated to each track.

I finally got around to listening to this album. I regret I didn't do it before. This is by far the best I've heard in this genre released under Creative-Commons. Only a true hip-hop artist would allow everybody to remix his shit. You are true, Cartel. Respect!

This album was great, because its hip hop with a Pac sound to it! The album is not too hard core, but right in the sweet spot for hip hop. If anything, Cartel shows us that hip hop is not dead! Good Job!!!
