"Frankovo stará" A moderately paced bit of traditional Jazz, with foot-tapping percussion, tinkling piano, walking bass-line and brass. The constant shifting pace could leave you breathless, but who needs to breath when listening to such good Jazz.
"Latina" A Jazz style piano entry built the scene. A plucky bass built around a mid-paced stomping rhythm and it kicked off. The piano played wildly as it seemed to try to keep up to the pace of the now fast pace drums. I was frantically trying to keep my writing at the pace of the music(failed). Just as it all seemed hopeless, the pace dropped to a crawl with the piano sharing the slow melody with brass and pipes(possibly). The relaxed pace ended in the sixth minute and the pace picked up with piano and brass/wind carrying the melody which now moved into a more contemporary style. This suddenly ended, returning and ending the piece with the traditional form.
"Zefýrová myš" Soft played percussion with piano and a strolling bass-line built this piece. A Brass flavor took over and played a constant string of melodies around the strolling rhythm. The melodies along with the rhythm got firer until they began to burn. As I thought I saw a flame, it all dropped to a slower, dragging pace. Things cooled, but not for long. The pace and heat rises a little, but now this was sustainable and it was sustained until the end of the piece with a slow firm set of melodies carrying the themes to their close.
"Equinox" A extremely laid back entry into the piece. The gentlest of touches were laid on the percussion and the softest of melodies were made. Then, I know that I'd spoken too soon, as the whole piece takes on a different form. After a few heavy beats of the drum, the pace takes on a massive leap. Great vocalizing brought the hint of a story, but I wasn't listening. I only heard the thumping and shaking of the rhythm and jumping melodies. All too soon it all ended.
Not much more to be said. It will be a great hit with traditional Jazz lovers who may what a little spice. "Frankovo stará" had a very familiar sound to it(possibly Charles Mingus, or Charlie Parker style). The whole album contained some great, solid Jazz phrasing that were a wonder to hear.
A great cool afternoon listen or maybe an after dinner treat.
I'm really very, very stingy with my ten points awards.
But this one's a ten.
Absolutely
the beginning, managed to wash away a lot of muzak
I listened today before this. Uh, could sound a bit
sarcastic... this is because it's meant sarcastic -
a bit. But that's a matter of personal taste and
I don't want to stain this fine piece of jazz with
this. Relax - earlax.
...thank you for uploaded this tracks here. Good groovy jazzy songs :)
Great musicians, great jazz. I give 10 points because it is very good music. Most always give a lot of points. But my personal opinion is: Where should this music be played? For a wine bar, it is too restless. For a jazz club there for this kind of jazz hardly visitors, because the right audience is over 60 years. Make all blood pressure lowering drugs. It could still take up a retro movie from the 50's, which brings together writers. Young people get skin rashes when they hear that. You are certainly great musician. The music was upbeat, the pace was fast. But the times are just over in my eyes.
Animated and stimulatingly fun and groovy, sexy and cool, upbeat, jazzy piano, instrumental, drumnbass, saxophone, quintet music. That is delightful charismatic, energy filled and entertainingly great. To lap up and simply savour the delights in store for you as you check this gem of a album out.
si j'ai bien compris, ce sont des gamins qui ont enregistré cet album ! Alors là, chapeau bas... mais qui sont ces oiseaux rares ? Leurs noms vite...
