About this album

  • Updated: 16/08/2010

The latest release from the Bathtub Sophist. This summer-themed instrumental record represents sublime sonic storytelling. Interwoven with ambient nature sounds, this is a charming release, brim-full of wit and wonder. Each piece perfectly matches musically what is supposed to evoke, making this a rather special record.

A very pleasant and somewhat varied musical landscape.

Perhaps the more experimental / conceptual side and distinctive musicality in this work, may inhibit some people from a more careful hearing and at the end of a commentary. There is hardly a formula to apply here ... seems to me that there is a horizon broadened with different perspectives of viewing or if you prefer landscapes. However, for me, as a mere enthusiast without much knowledge of music, one thing is obvious ... has beauty and quality. The sound is good and nice in general, has a very appealing musicality and even uplifting. There is also some variety to the level of the rhythms, which makes it even more enjoyable in the overall. It is indeed a pleasure ... Thank you.

This little album made me think of a charming story book or little video that depicts some very lovely creatures and natural occurrences . . . I pictured a meadow in rural settings … . farmland and sunshine . . . flowers and crops . . . little cottages and healthy life all around . . I was taking a walk through this album for a long time. I felt so uplifted and so shined on that I had to listen to it several times. This album was very unique and creative and yet so nicely relaxing . . . Over all this is a very creative album of excellent compositions . . . I think these would also make good sound tracks for videos . . but I also love the mental images these tracks evoke with the confident choice of sounds in each one . . . lovely. By the way I love the intriguing album cover . .. my eyes were hooked on it . .. - M^^W -

I needed this today. After a harsh and hurried, busy day..And instantly on hearing this brilliant and mellow, sweet and unhurried, wonderful, relaxing and calm breathtaking, scenic and cinematic score unfold before me..I could picture the beauty of the out doors, nature at is simplistic, and even going to church on a Sunday as very enjoyable and heart contended making music..That warmed the cockles of my heart and soul. And left me grinning like a Cheshire cat and a fresh as a new daisy in the garden in summer time..Bright,breezy,interesting, compelling and absorbing..laid back, intriguing, magical, mystical even surreal music.
