About this album

  • Updated: 20/08/2010

Nice bit of house I produced, similar to "We All Love Sax" by Tim Deluxe. The sax sample itself is actually an old recording of a friend of mine for a track I was working on years ago. The original planned track never happened, but since I'd "bought" Rachel's time and performance (I seem to recall the payment consisted of cake!), it seemed a shame to waste it, so 8 years or so later I've re-used it as the melody here. The recording is of Rachel just randomly jaming away to herself on her sax one afternoon; the interesting thing is that it fits against the backing so well without any meaningful editing, or her ever hearing the eventual track! Just shows how if you get the musical scale/mode right, anything will fit with anything.

Upbeat, Joyous & Very Happy, Contagious Music. With A Saxophone Solo Heard.. That is To Die For.

A good hypnotic, vibe and deep bass that dances and runs along your minds eye and ears. And gives of a nice pulsating feeling and ambient electronic tone on top of the bassline. That is patronymically and mesmerizingly good. With the added touches of the saxophone solo that you hear added into this elegant, rich mix of a landscape..

A wonderfully Listenable Dance Track

After the first 30 seconds of the heavy ticking rhythm and the joining slow paced percussion, a strong driving rhythm emerged. This contained a bass-line trying to keep up with the percussion on pace but superior in depth and pounded away while a rattling riff played on. The melody molded by the saxophone was wonderful and while I listened to this mellow flowing sound, it was easy to forget that I was listening to a dance track. The piece ended as it started with the ticking solo rhythm. Although there were electronic based melodies all over the piece, there was less of the overall heavy electronic feel as the saxophone created a chilled quality that reduced the electronic effect. My feet were moving, but my ears were also listening and I think the ears won. An extremely listenable dance track.
