As you may know, this is my first official full-length (Scattered Fragments doesn't count, it's just a compilation) and it's been a looong time coming. This album became a concept in February 2009, when I first stepped foot on Belgian soil and became rather obsessed with the First World War. Spending a week in Ypres, a town bursting with a history of pain and struggle, was probably the most life-changing experience of my 18 years here. Nothing has ever moved me quite so much as standing among the graves of countless heroes, men with families and lives ahead of them, who gave it all for their countries and were buried nameless. I can recall hearing nothing and feeling the most overwhelming sense of loneliness and despair. I had to hold back tears in a few graveyards, I must have looked quite the fool :P

Please stay courteous and be sincere (for good and bad!). It can be an interesting read for others, but only if it is constructive and doesn't disparage the artist.
Please write about the music itself and don't be too hard on the sound quality of some demos.
