About this album

  • Published: Sep 15, 2010

This is a track from around 2000, re-done recently as the missus would like to sing it. Feel free to record your own vocal and instrumental parts, and there's no copyright enforced here whatsoever so you can even sell it without royalty. The song is about relationship breakup, is rather poppy and the sort of thing the Spice Girls might do. Never thought I'd miss the 1990s, but I suppose even nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

This is definatley a song that should have been sung by a 'girl power' style of band. There is a lot of feeling in the words and the writer was obviously at a sore point in his life. I don't know why, but a male voice just doesn't go with the lyrics. The song has quite an upbeat tune and I could imagine the girl(s) on the video tearing up the posessions of their former lover (the initial madness) and then the bonfire (I'm over you) followed by a night on the town (I'm on the rebound). However the vocalists voice does not suit this style, I could imagine him suitig more a punk rock genre as all I could picture in my head was the Clash singing this and it actually made me laugh. Great song for pop fans, but in my opinion, sung by the wrong person.
