Enough melancholic without being necessarily sad, this is a very beautiful melody and an excellent tribute not only to the end of a Summer, but also to the beginning of a new Autumn. I'd say that this melody accomplishes beautifully its "purpose" by going somehow to the encounter of a whole lot of mixed emotions, that are just natural in almost every and single one of us at this time of year and in that sense, was really inspired.

As Summer End.. and the leaves on the trees start to fall and to turn those delightfully, glowing, crisp, golden, colors and other amazing autumn colours in between.. Such as bright reds and golden browns. And the falling leaves. Are crunchy under foot. and the forest animals are getting snug and cozy inside their little dens, and hiding places. A calmness and beautiful grace peace and stillness fills the air and the mood of Summer Ending. Is but a light fragrance..That is my mind eyes. As I reflect and ponder and mediate of such a glorious summer that we had. Radiant sunshine, cloudless skies and children's laughter and lovers happy and very content. As life was good. And memories where made for another day...and another year..

This tune, of Van Syla, has stronger, darker feelings than most of her others . . . and is one of my new favorites. "Summer's End" brought the tears to my eyes . .it spoke to me . . . saying good-bye! This emotional song has the heart of a poet, telling the summer farewell. . .
