About this album

  • Updated: 05/10/2010

Due to our symbiotic state, the memories of my host have begun seeping through. It comes to me in vivid fragments, saturated with the hopes and ideas of human adolescence. How beautiful it is to aspire, how delicate a process it is to construct an identity through pieces of idolatry and inspiration. Now, these are all memories I am happy to share. Reflections on abandonment, opposition, but most of all joy. Don't forget to dance.

It sounds a little different from some of his previous works: it lacks the complete unpredictabilty of "Defrag" and the overall grooviness of "You can't stop da funk". This Nordland instead tries succesfully to blend those two amazing characteristics ("Elektroll" is an amazing example) and adds to it a pinch of joy ("Penguin"). The reference to the Amen break in "Røykmaskin" is the cherry on the top. 8bit at it's best!

Man, you're good!!! Binärpilot was my first discovery in Jamendo, and though I've found others, it is still the best discovery. I'm listening first time now and I'm enjoying it already. I personally find the song writing has evolved. It's more intricate, but the structure and sound palette is all Binärpilot. Congratulations!

I don't call it "masterpiece". I don't mark it as "awesome". Frankly, Binärpilot, there is a long way for you, man. Yes, I strongly believe it's just the very beginning! I stick to this thought. I must, I have to, I won't change my mind even if I could. You give to your audience so much and yet so little. Yes, we ask for more! Press space to play :-) Thank you for your work.

Nice Electronica Style Dance

'Nordland', has a musical sound reminiscent of late 80- 1990's era Video Games and is very pleasing to hear. Even though this album is partially classified as Dance many of the tracks are suitable for pursuits that require concentration(study-reading etc). The instrumentation is not the usual synthesizer keyboard/drum sound but rather is series of computer 'chirp-beep' (Track #1, 'Axxo') sound effects mixed with elements of synthesizer and percussion. You will also find a "singing computer voice" effect that is a very nice touch(Tracks 9 and 10, 'Roykmaskin and Nordland'). 'Roykmaskin' also does double duty as a stand alone Dance Track. Other Dance Standouts include, Track #2. 'Tjaere For Alltid' and Track #5. 'Underground'. This is not "Typical" Techno Dance fare but is still an excellent album.

Das neuste Album "Nordland" von Binärpilot ist einfach nur der Hammer! Besonders die Titel aXXo und Underground gefallen mir sehr gut und ich höre das Album immer und immer wieder. Der Musikstil ist einfach einmalig.
