Reconozco que al iniciar escuchando Mabele, me pregunté si renvanhirk se había fumado algo extraño, porque la arenga trasnochada apoyando a los inmigrantes no presagiaba nada bueno. Por suerte, pasado el primer minuto, la cosa tomó forma y ya en el segundo tema el grupo toma ritmo y no te suelta hasta el último tema, el épico Baninga. Si bien me chocan un poco los coros en español castizo en los ambientes étnicos, igual se disculpa por la buena calidad de la música. No sé si me equivoco, pero da la impresión que los temas fuesen grabados en orden cronológico. Es decir, los últimos temas son más integrados y poderosos que los primeros. En suma, un álbum absolutamente recomendable, especialmente a tipos como yo, que gustan de la integración entre la música africana y pop occidental que hace Peter Gabriel.

I like this album, the colour and the sounds, the fuzion of electric guitars and ethno-african music. There is just a little streaming error of one track, but the rest is good. Great album.

afro-fusion, die einen mitzieht. der sound erinnert sehr an die siebziger-jahre, ist aber trotzdem kein abklatsch einer der großen heroen. eigenständige lieder sehr professionell dargeboten. wieder mal was für den welt-musik fan. ----------- schade das auch hier wieder ein stream (Track Oyoka) verhunzt ist.

From the melliflous brilliance of Mabele to the rocky tinged Mondongo this album has it all.Hypnotically groovey Baninga is as good as anything the resplendent Orchestra Baobab have produced.The vocals are subtle but filled with a rawness so radical and exhilarating that it is hard to believe that this piledriver of an album is not a best seller in the "World music" charts. Lerele has a guitar swing filled with such dynamism and energy that one could be listening the spectacular (and inimitable) Djélimady Tounkara. Lokolé have the infinate warmth of the African diaspora in their sound......An enthralling and beautiful album.
