About this album

  • Updated: 07/12/2010
Jasser Haj Youssef Quartet
Jasser Haj Youssef : violon, viole d’amour, composition
Gaël Cadoux : piano
Joachim Govin : contrebasse
Youssef Hbeisch : percussions

Thank you Daisylis for the recommendation . . . you always seem to have some really good choices. This particular album is stunning in its unique genre which seemed to flow smoothly between the orient and jazz becoming an ideal blend of the two. The violin and some percussions would give the impression of the silk road and the piano and bass gave the jazzy air . . . at least that was my perception . . . Overall the music was exotic and interesting, besides being beautiful and enticing. I think it was especially creative and wonderfully different; unique in a very pleasant way. Stunning - Wolfsong

What a nice thought you had by adding this album to the Jamendo collection. This is an amazing live performance! I love jazz and even more when blending with cultural/traditional music. A big up to your Quartet! PalmwineP PS: I am so pleased to be the first to review your artwork ;D

I felt like I was sitting, in some Broadway New York theatre in USA..And along comes, these performers and musical, master mind, genius of musicians and they start to perform, live on stage..before my eyes and ears... And I become stunned and in sit in total awe and bewitched and shocked.Let alone mesmerized by the sublime beauty I hear. With is mystical, magical and oriental,atmospheric-al,charismatic,Russian and meaningful surreal, compelling, folklores music. That was profound, epic and magnificent in general to take you over and you become part of it all. With is superb, versatility, charismatic, fun filled, bright and happy, sad and sombre, dramatic and drama filled traditional, classy, mix of Arabic,Moroccan and also the Middle East, jazzy, violin strings solos. And good use of the piano, bass and percussions, drums and bells also heard and felt within this pure gem of an orgasmic album.

Mes meilleurs voeux depuis Arg.!
