About this album

  • Updated: 08/12/2010

hi everybody.

Heart of darkness is a simply piano-instrumental song.

you can understand that is very difficult to give a title to a song that doesn't have a text. i decided to call this song heart of darkness because it has the same style of my first song pubblished on jamendo: LIGHT (http://www.jamendo.com/it/album/65672), but, while Light (as the title says) give a feel like hope, Heart of darkness has something of melanchonic.

the cover is quite casually: a friend has given to me this photo after he listened to my song, saying: "i felt like into the heart of darkeness"

i have to apologize because i share only one song for album, but i've got many problems with my internet connection.

i hope you will enjoy my music!

P.S the title is not linked with the "heart of darkness" of J. Conrad

Because, what is good and bad, if not the two sides of a same coin?... don't we love and hate, exactly with the same heart? Despite the fact that our evolution gives us some illusion of tranquility and hope, the fact is that we keep being ignorants... and afraid. However, in our hearts there's also space for other feelings and sentiments, such as hope. Even nowadays with all the technology available for us to communicate with each other (and sometimes because of that same technology), some still live in a world of uncertainty and doubt. In darkness. If only they could realize that, convictions, are most of the times nothing more than doubts enfolded with personal will and the rest of the times, enfolded in faith... and that this capacity has also place in the same heart that handles with their suffering... we must believe in something... all of the time, even if subconsciously. Believe in a flower, if it makes you feel beauty... believe in God, if it gives you hope... believe in music, if it makes you feel tranquil. Now, believe in me... this music here, does wonders. And just like you, has a heart... an open heart... open your's.

What a wonderful piece of music! The use of the pentatonic scale here as a motif gives a sense of innocence in a way, and the beat and rhythm coupled with its atmosphere give this sense of total freedom. It's like an exotic dance of passion for the glory of love :D Thanks for sharing, this was a wonderful listen -- I think I've listened to it about 3 times now =)

What an awesome cover. I was thinking to download the album, just to get it ;-). Too bad it was almost wasted on a single track. Almost, but not really. The song itself is great, although a bit boring toward the end (2:50 up). I was kinda hoping of a better ending, but the song is still great neverthless, and probably will find its way toward the 'top 100'. I can't find what you mean with 'darkness', using both my eyes (cover) and ears (song).
