Here are a some of my personal scattered memories I've collected in this album.
New York is a city where I studied, learned, worked, met fine people, loved and thought that everything could be possible. I enjoyed every bit of my life in the Big Apple.

Very well done. You have really captured the sounds of the city. Ground Zero; i could feel the brooding sadness as if I was there. This is truly a nice audio experience!
Thank You
Bravo
Review - also with a poem which is NOT posted here: http://orangeupurple.blogspot.com/2011/01/big-city.html
The city and its circumstances are described with pure love by the musician's choices of instruments and his lovely compositions. PM is a highly qualified composer, always with an interesting and pointed way of expressing his feelings on a subject. New York city will always intrigue us and move us . . . and it makes a wonderful concept album. The last song on this album is a beautiful, poetically sad and dark message with a ray of shining hope . . . perhaps one of my favorites. The music on the album, overall is jazzy/bluesy, creative, interesting and an emotionally-charged listen . . .

I think that your experiences in New York City have allowed you to capture its soul in your music, Pierre-Marie.
This is a very exciting and enjoyable album.
Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
Bravo encore depuis Arg.
The jazz-like quality of much of this music seems to be a departure from what Pierre-Marie usually composes (I'm more used to his classical compositions). It's a pleasant departure, though, for the saxophone really evokes the feeling of New York City night life. Elsewhere, we hear the subtle use of dissonance that I've often heard him use before, to great effect in such pieces as 'Romance in Central Park', some of which reminds me of Charles Ives' 'Central Park in the Dark' (there's more similarity between these two pieces than in the titles). There is also some beautiful, lyrical piano playing in that piece. 'Ground Zero' has an ethereal quality that reminded me of the smoke everywhere when that terrible tragedy happened about a decade ago. The electronic feel of 'Scraping the Sky' evokes some of the hectic, hurry-up-and-wait feeling of getting to work in rush-hour traffic in the morning. I've never been to New York City, but to hear so much music inspired by it makes me want to go there.
