Ce premier album est passionnant à plus d'un titre. D'abord parce que le contenu en est beaucoup plus personnel et abouti qu'il n'y parait au premier abord, ensuite parce que la construction en est relativement complexe et habile. Aux fil des titres alternent ruptures et transitions brutales (For You, qui bénéficie curieusement d'une double introduction), progressions calculées (Risin'up, Nine of Them), répétitions judicieuses et solos inspirés (Come piombo). Par ailleurs la voix du chanteur passe très bien et peut parfois évoquer John Lydon. Aucun passage n'est jamais gratuit et une écoute insistante permet d'y déceler de nombreux fragments d'une grande beauté formelle.

This album starts slowly and doesn't really get going until 2 minutes into the second track when a lovely understated guitar solo kicks in. Up to this point I was not sure, but track 3 is a great modern groove. The vocal sounded more assured and genuine, possibly because he was in his native language. By the time the solo kicked in I was nodding along and playing "air drums". Made all the better by a great drum break. Track 4 the bass guitarist get his chance to shine with a tight funky running baseline under the verse. Track 5, "Risin' up" caught my ear straight away. Tight, urgent and polished with a pleading vocal which urges you to care and take notice. The songs on this album allow for individual expression but there are no one man shows. They never dissolve into showing off. Everything works with everything else. I look forward to hearing more.

Du rock bien enlevé, un chanteur qui assure (tantôt en anglais, tantôt en italien) Un batteur au point, ça pulse comme j'aime. Moi j'y vais, alors pourquoi pas vous?
