mamzell boit du rouge et son univers est tout en blues une atmosphère qui sent la cigarette au fond d'une cave les balais glissent sur les cymbales les doigts se balladent sur les touches blanches et noires la contrebasse y ajoute ces soupirs miss mae nous raconte ces histoires et on l'écoute sans en perdre une miette le guitariste égrenne doucement ces notes une atmosphère qui navigue entre l'univers du "pamela popo" de gainsbourg et des titres du dresden dolls subtil

Der Winter ist eine klassische Zeit für den Blues, wenn nicht gar für Depressionen. "Seasonal Affective Disorder" von Dazie Mae thematisiert genau das. Der muntere Swing, der das Debütalbum "Velvet Dress & Stockings" noch partiell geprägt hatte, ist einer tiefen Melancholie gewichen. Auch die "femme fatale" kann den Blues bekommen. Man erinnere sich nur an die letzten Jahrzehnte der großen Marlene Dietrich, die sie abgeschottet in Paris lebte. Dazie Mae - in diesem Fall nicht die Pariser Jazz- & Bluesband sondern die von derselben musikalisch gestaltete Comicfigur - hat diesen Blues ebenso erwischt. Zu viele Enttäuschungen mit den Männern, mit sterbenden Idolen, alles scheint düster und grau zu sein. Die Musik von Dazie Mae ist daher jetzt auch kein Swing mehr, sondern jazziger Blues oder bluesiger Jazz jeweils mit einer Dosis Chanson angrereichert. Es ist ein betörend trauriges Album geworden, was das Quartett innerhalb von drei Tagen live in einem Studio eingespielt hat. Zwar ist Sängerin Jeanne keine Marianne Faithful oder Billy Holiday. Doch ihre scheinbar so mädchenhaft brüchige Stimme lässt einen einfach nicht mehr los. Klavier, Gitarre und Bass (die anderen drei Viertel der Band) werden hier nur manchmal von Schlagzeug und Violine unterstützt, um die nötige Tragig der Stimmung noch zu unterstreichen. Wenn man mir jetzt noch einen guten Whisky gibt, dann bleib ich die nächsten Stunden bei dieser Platte hängen... Als Vertreter der freien Musikszene sind Dazie Mae ein Beispiel dafür, dass das Verschenken von Musik auch profitabel sein kann. Finanziert hat das Quartett ihr neues Album nämlich komplett aus Spenden, die sie über Jamendo und andere Seiten von Fans bekommen haben.

Excellent de bout en bout!on est dans un cabaret de Chicago à la fin des années 50..athmosphére feutrée,enfumée,sensuelle..James Ellroy écrit"le Dahlia noir"dans un coin un peu retiré,un single Malt à portée de main.. j'aime tout!la voix de Jeanne,les zicos,la pochette! merci à tout le groupe!

Jeanne sure had the prowess and elegances and sheer grace, and high calibre, class, to intrigue, spellbind you, and make you.... say "wow out loud". With her strong,dulcet,sexy and sensual,sweet and loving,wholesome,innocent and female, womanly charms. Sure did impress me. And make me listen more and more. And the music, was impressive as well. And all remind me of some Broadway theatrical show. That draw crowds from far and distant places. To pay and come watch. Jeanne and her fellow musicians perform and play in tune and union to her captivating voice..Each track just got better and better. I had to check this out twice. As ones was not enough..As it was that delicious..and so was Jeanne..

bueno, la vos sin hacer grandes esfuerzos encanta, la medida adecuada. El piano, sí que crea un ambiente entre gélido y acogedor, como si fuera el espacio de quien va seguro por el camino de algún "desorden afectivo". No soy una amante del jazz, pero me quedo con el album. ¡qué bueno! gracias por la música

The simple lyrics tell touching tales, the haunting melodies stir the heart, and the voice is full of passion.

Kind of a cabaret sound, and a bit of jazzy blues . .. and if you have the blues . . . you won't, after listening to this album . . I could almost hear the scratches on this record . . . and the smell of the ancient record player working overtime . . . Hey . . this reminds me of the stack of records my brother and I found in the basement in the drawer of that afore mentioned record player when we were very young . . . so I grew up on stuff like this . . . What a great sultry voice, Jeanne has; and all the rest on the piano, guitar and bass are superb . . . I would love to see this group because you can sense the fun and energy. Its the kind of album you sit back and listen to for entertainment and that sweet sound of Dazie Mae tickling your eardrums and giving you some great mental visions . . . Wonderful!
