You guys did a great job on this album! i approve. keep up the good work! i recommend this album to anybody who likes beck or bands of similar ilk.
me gusta mucho el sonido creado para este album, un lo.fi muy adecuado, un poco de sonic youth, de brittish, garage, ...
I really loved this striking, touching, meaningful and heartfelt, upbeat, catchy, cool, unique, mixture of indie, pop, rock tracks. With a great interesting, voice. And good lyrics..And amazing music. To wrap it all up perfectly.. Wonderful time spent chill out to this extraordinary, charismatic, fundamental album in general. That had me,hooked from start till end..
"How lovely" A few riffs started the ball rolling. Then a strong low toned guitar riff pounded the mid-pace on. With the strong low tone driving riff and underlying main guitar riffs the mood strutted forward. Percussion marked out the steps as the strutting became bolder. Vocals were understated and seemed almost shy or unconfident. I think this piece need either much stronger/bolder vocals or none at all.
"Run or stop" A soft pounding bass with a subtle drag worked with the moderately paced bongo enthused percussion to form a quietly punchy style. The guitar worked around this base as it circulated melodies.
"Oh no she was alone" The strutting bass and guitar riffs merged with percussion to produce the most wonderful backdrop. The distance in the vocals was perfection along with the John Lennon like style stamped on the piece. The rolling guitar riff/melody rounded off the mood in a superb fashion.
"Youth revolver" The light pounding of the percussion and heavy running bass riff carried me off into the sound-scape. The guitar emerged to add to(not to lead) the mood. The effects filled vocals added to the mood, but were mainly inaudible and didn't produce any lyrical impact. The driving theme went on and on as they carried me off in a wave of sound.
"Today" The rattling and banging of the percussion worked with riffs to form the structure. Good Blues guitars breaks warmed the music as the vocals filled in the template.
"Ride home" An evenly run riff and quick step percussion delivered the backdrop to a sound fronted by moody vocals with an unmistakable Lennon feel. Smooth and brief guitar breaks tied the middle and end of this musical gift.
"Look the night" The quite strong effects on the vocals as they stretched forward over the sedate backdrop of an acoustic guitar sounded fantastic. The strolling sound of a Blues guitar broke in to make its comments. The theme dragged back its hold on the mood and I was once again captivated.
"It doesn't matter" The clear, soft vocal entry set a good quiet frame, which was broken by a power driven guitar riff burst. The return to the quietness rolled softly on until another riff burst ended the piece.
A strong Indy/Pop style. The musical influences were quite strong in some of the tracks. Most of the work on the album seemed to slot right into the genre and there wasn't a great deal of variety within the genre. The main and backing vocals were quite good and I felt that generally, they should have taken a more up-front roll in the music. It probably would have been better to have had less quantity and longer tracks within the thirty two minutes.
However, an enjoyable listen with some excellent musical delivery.
