Depths of darkness...

Starts with a lovely deep humming noise, synths playing over the top. Then the rhythm begins to build into a prominent position, retaining its' simplicity and developing into a nice ambient, instrumental track (with sentences pronounced in the dark!-). Track 2, Drawing The Line Of Life, starts as it means to go on, which is good, ambient minimalism. As an experiment in sound it is sufficiently adventurous and satisfying. I love this style of music because it can be very evocative of many personal things, as has been said already. Someone once said to me that your life is based solely on the choices you make and I argued that it was a mixture of choice, luck and destiny. This is what this tracks makes me think of, my drawing the line of my life, which, like many people, has had its ups and downs. Wave Chasing, track 3, reminds me of playing on the beach when I lived on the Isle of Arran. Life was good then, without darkness, but lonesome. In a sense, Wave Chasing, epitomises life itself, but this track has none of the frustration I feel sometimes, which this kind of music can dispel. And, there is Saving Force, strangely enough, which sort of proves my point, I suppose? Nice track, peaceful, restful and thought provoking. Track 5, is a bit more lively but still simple and easy to digest through the aural channels of my convoluted brain. Evocative of deep uncharted space, perhaps 'inner' space, which can be a very dark place. Overall, a brilliant EP with the odd shadow.

Préférence pour "Sentences pronounced in the dark" et "Wave chasing". Hummmouai...:) sympa !

This may be the perfect late night, urban landscape album. It is for me! Without paying close attention and letting it just play softly in the background it evokes many feelings and memories that might be common to anyone who has lived in or near an urban area and came to love its atmosphere late at night. It reminded me of a train that slowly drew closer from a distance, passing my home then moving on that I used to look forward to hearing everynight as a child. That sound always comforted me and this album evokes that memory very nicely. Every track brings back memories of all sorts of things one hears or might have heard while walking or riding through a favorite city late at night. Its wonder-filled.
