About this album
The Verkosto story begins with Tähtitorni EP, a journey into darker and more experimental sounds. "Tähtitorni" is Finnish for "observatory" (literally "star tower"), the overarching theme on this continuous twelve-minute composition. I imagine it as the soundtrack to a solitary astronomer observing incomprehensible and disquieting phenomena on three distant worlds, trying to make sense of it all.
Tähtitorni EP gradually builds up in intensity, passing through a flurry of sounds containing elements and ideas from a number of genres such as ambient, noise, psychedelic dub, IDM and goa trance. As I composed and mixed the whole thing using headphones due to various circumstances, the sound is quite detailed and subtle and perhaps the most pleasant when listened to through headphones.
