Ghost Transistor - Atmospheric

Ghost Transistor

Atmospheric

07/12/09

Has the atmospheric qualities of a small circuit. Throw in minimalism to the ambience and it seems to add up better for me. Again, nice enough and I thought I may as well grab a listen while I was in the area. Might be good to hear a bigger selection of tracks with hopefully a wider range, and let's hear those experiments stretching the imagination!-)

My initial frame of mind, taking the visuals in first, is of a time before surface-mounted components, when I could repair a computer with some ingenuity rather than just sticking a completely new module into the machine. That brings me to the second reference to the ghost in the machine, Koestler aside, there is some truth having spent many years in the business, of the mysterious and unexplainable in IT. This track does as much to account for such quark, strangeness and charm, as I could hope for. Overall, nice enough, although I feel the track could have stretched itself a bit more with good results.

Despite the span of time that these tracks where created within, they actually seem to flow together quite well. That suggests some level of constancy, though any disparity would show up less for me as a listener perhaps. Overall, I am obviously taken with this artist, and have enjoyed listening to this pretty positive electronica. As for the experimentation, it is not taken to any significant extreme, being more like just a hint of spice to the recipe. Bon appetit!

Busking on the digital highway, this one man band creates an atmosphere that is inescapably prone to inevitable division. Such is the nature of creative expression. The more information we transmit and receive, the more our attention span has to spread itself. In my book that is a set of potentially infinite variables all vying for our twitching focal point. Having said all that, I am quite taken by this musical offering. Made me think of Scott4's 'Works Project'. Which happens to be one of my most favourite albums. All for one and one for all!-) Nicely done.

Hi!
First of all, I really like all tracks on this album! Very nice guitar themes, catchy atmosphere, great work!

Two things to add:
1. With a singer these tracks could be more interesting. Somehow I have karaoke feeling while listening to the music. :)

2. I think the tracks should be remixed and remastered. Especially the drum sound is quite low quality to me (kick drum too muddy, snare is week, cymbals too loud). I'd add more reverb on the drum and other percussion tracks to give them more life.

But anyway, I like your music! :)

i like the edges. I like the edges being around in music. This album is well produced by technical means but a bit boring. Experiments with trance-pop don`t change things into better vein.

What could I recommend to do? You should be a bit venturesome, having more focusing in certain directions, rather than bleeding everywhere.

The Wind Whistles - window sills

Indeed, it was a beautiful and catchy album but the follow-up People Are Animals Too (2009, Aaahh records) was irresistible by any means. One of the albums of the year.

Excellent track made me feel so good checking it out, happy, smiling and made me want to get up and dance around the room as it played..

To be honest, I must admit, when I hear the woman first start to sing, it was not what I had expect,or want to be honest. I had this preconceived idea for starters, the singer was going to be a man, and turns out,it was not, and her voice, took me by surprise to say the least, due to what I had thought, and wanted to hear sing. And her slight accent in her voice, comes across as she sings, and that put me off slightly as she sang. But the more. I listened the more I got used to her and her voice, and I started to come to terms with her voice and this lady singing I guess is what I mean. Just it took awhile to get used to her, and the initial shock of the woman's and her voice. threw me..Decent album, and her voice is strong. But more I tired I really have to be honest, I struggled to get used to her voice on this album. Not saying she can not sing she can.. just not for me, on this album. sorry for being so honest..
