The perfect soundtrack for creeping, unrelenting anxiety. Ingest it while alone in the darkest hours of the night, and you might be pushed over the edge.

No compensation required, just good composition suffices. As it happens, random can actually achieve good ends.

Not all songs are equally interesting for me in this album. So i would mark out first track and track "Maiden's Dance" - very pleasant one, of medievel mood

I have a problem with labels. Hell, I can't even really categorize my own stuff! But I can't call The Gasoline brothers alternative, unless they're an alternative to mediocrity. This is great pop by anyone's yardstick, and I love the 'exclamation' titles of their albums, it's a small thing, but these little commercial techniques go a long way to getting you into people's heads. There's a smattering of "They might be giants" fairy dust in there - especially on "sleeping pills and asteroids". All in all a great addition to the pop canon.

Get down with the juicy currents of Volt-Ampere, as long as the tubes can cope.

From the opening stereopanned hypnotic indian riffs, this album began to reel me in. Expertly executed performances from all."She" - a great rock song sandwiched between the aforementioned indianizms and a beautiful chamber orchestra finale! Then the straightahead riffing of sirens gets serious. Comparisons to anyone do this band a disservice. "Sense", like "She" makes fine use of the stereo picture in its intro. Simple but effective. Great contemporary rock harmonies, just enough edge to the singer's vocals - which are inherently listenable. You get the feeling that this band's creative well runneth over.A truly great rock album, by anyone's standards.

I like this album - not all tracks are equal, but there is generally a consistent, rich rhythmic sensibility driving the album. I totally agree with jamendo singling out "Shirley Track" especially.

I can see the logic behind the sudden tempo changes and other favourite devices, though I may not always agree with their aptness; this shows there seems to be thought going into the arrangement. Overall an enjoyable album. Keep up the good work, Tambor.

JoJo 2009

One last review for the evening. I listened to JoJo's first album and just adored it and starred it and wrote a review. Now am listening to this latest release and am just as impressed. The (screaming rock) vocals are superb with a great male singer (JoJo?)(maybe could use some range training). The guitar, again, is spectacular. I just love these rock tracks. "Fast Love" was really something with that screaming and (who was that belting out the song?) singing and exploding guitars. This song was humorous and fun. Would be superb on stage live. "Feel Good" started out with some massive bells and drum beats and continued on as an exceptional piece - ending with the bells. "Slide Me"'s very, very powerful (sliding) guitar is - um - powerfully good. I'm at a loss for words. I think this is my favorite track, with some great rock lyrics. Oh baby! "See You in Heaven" is a sweet ending for this fabulous album with a hollow sound that just wrapped around me. I hope I'm not the only one on Jamendo who loves Rock - I have to admit that I have a huge place in my heart for the genre - but I'm surprised that no one has reviewed this one yet. This is just Outstanding!

My Othersite

See what happens when I hang out at Jamendo, I find another outstanding artist, new to me, whom I have just got to listen to and write about in another review.

Wow - I loved "Oriental Cowboy" which had a strong gallop through the track and a slight oriental flavor. It is a very fun rock tune with an outstanding flaring guitar. Jojo Wiese is very talented at his craft and seems to knock out some excellent music. "My Othersite 3" is wildly spectacular. Another fantastic, unbelievable guitar stars in this one. Beautiful bluesy rock on the verge of psychedelic at times. I am moved to tears by this one for some reason. I love the length of these songs but am sorry that the album is so short - but hey - that's ok - he has three more albums - yay!

I was so excited to discover this artist, Giorgio Campagnano, by lurking about on Jamendo and stumbling on his work. It is just studded with outstanding orchestral music. It has great composition and flow to the music on the album. "Thinking" is exactly what you can do as you listen to this album. It is quite striking. Especially the exotic "Pensieri in Fuga" bringing to mind the silk road, which I have often traveled in my fantasies. I just love that one and can't get over how gorgeous it is, but too short. "I Like Piano" has a darling melody with instrumentals and a piano twining sweetly through the track. "Un' insolita passeggiata" has a gorgeous violin which twined around my heart! I didn't want to pick anymore favorite songs but I couldn't resist that one - that violin, she calls to me and insists I answer, so I did. "Danger" had a little trepidation to its melody and drum beat and I especially loved "Don't Worry." I will keep that in mind, always.

This album is definitely worth a close listen - you cannot miss the beauty of this music.
