youd music
but it seems the sound is very low quality
I really like our ideas and I love your style. I think that some things - especially certain crashes and percs - could sit more neatly into the mix. Maybe a bit of reverb or more attention to the eq may do it. But this acid style of techno/trance is really one of my favourites.
Very nice guitar playing, in a kind of alternative sound. As a indie experimental work it is quite good. If you like that funky sound of the 70's, you're sure gonne like this. Breaking drums, bouncy bass and lots of guitar pedals.
Production is not the best quality though, could be better. Anyway I like it, even though I don't dig instrumental work. Maybe some brass like saxophone or trumpet would raise them on a higher level next time. We'll see, keep up!...
A clear and crisp sound, with cool beats and bass togehter with different styles. It is stefan d. This is more on the chillout site than the other, but nevertheless it is awesome.
Real cool. Keep it on !!!
The whole LP situates itself in the spheres of world ethnic ambient mixed with some electronic music. The project is very carefully produced and, technically, it sounds very well, although I have a few remarks concerning the compositions. Here they go:
La sixieme porte de Shanaaghar – good, meditative ambient piece, reminding me of first FSOL or ORB records.
Le nettoyeur – sounds like some criminal series theme, too soft for me.
The blue star – good electro, but the beat is too slow to make it hit for me. Big plus for sweet French accent ‘always togezer’ ;-)
Respire – Word-music ambient in the way that is too much predictable for me, I’m afraid.
Why – great ethnic vocals with techno trance background much better than Respire.
The new day – the words and the manner of singing make it too pompatic form me, but as an instrumental composition the song is really good.
Why (Trance remix by Ilya Malyuev) – I like trance, so I liked that remix, however it’s not a proper techno-trance as from Dragonfly Records for example.
La face cachée de la lune – very lunatic indeed, I quite enjoyed it.
Les chevaliers de l'Aar – Extremely good, nice descending atmosphere, great vibrating keyboard. One of my favourites.
Generally the record is too smoothed for me. I like it a little more experimental and raw but with more life. It cannot be seen on ‘Wood’ in every recording, and that’s why is ‘only’ 8. But, I must confess that the production of the LP is impressive.
Its a good album. Its in a softer style with more of a classic rock feel than today's rock. The background music is solid. The voice is good but not great. The lyrics are clear and not very repetitive. Its like listening to a story, which is how music is supposed to feel.
At the very first sounds one can immediately recognize singular Nikila's style characterized by unequaled beats and rhythms. Sometimes the music is heavy and noisy, sometimes emotional and gentle, but allways rare, intelligent, interesting and surprising.
This album has really caught my attention. It is really well constructed, with an excellent balance of musical tones and textures. The music drives really well, is very dancy, and isn't too experimental to put on at a party.
This artist is a real talent, and you should really check out this album.
My first impression of the first track was that it was almost operatic, like Rob Dougan, or perhaps cinematic is a better term. But then the album consolidates and gets more clubby through the next two tracks.
Track 4 (Experience II) is more reflective in tone, and good if a bit patchy towards the end.
"Ungrateful Men" (track 5) is a belter. My favourite track on the album, it reminds me of VAST or The Prodigy.
The last three tacks are good, but not excellent. Seem a little bit Amon Tobin in style, but almost lounge-techno.
