Thank you for this kick-ass album - I've really enjoyed listening to it. I think the first half is a bit stronger than the second, which loses it's way a little.
I particularly like Wonderland, Out of thought and time, and Looking @ the world with love, which are just simply wonderful songs.
I think it could be improved by making some of the songs a _little_ shorter, and more focused, but mostly you use repetition to excellent effect, and really build the tension.
Cheers!
Rockin. It's pretty clear that you're huge Patton fans ;-) Love to see you live - when're you coming to Edinburgh?
All the musos are clearly very competent. Singer in particular is great. Main criticism is that it sounds too much like Patton's various projects (FNM and Mr Bungle in partucular) - even the singer sounds like him. I suggest you try to develop your own sound and style a bit more.
A good way to do this might be to write a couple of "serious" sounds about something important to you and make sure they get across this message. Use the music and vocals as a vehicle for this too.
But hell, you guys rock - keep up the great work and thanks for sharing your music!
Cheers,
-Gus
Not only is it great jazz, it's _interesting_ great jazz! :-) Thanks for sharing a great EP - look forward to hearing more!
I like it. The sounds remind me of an Australian band called Grand Silent System, as well as Pink Floyd's old stuff. Lots of interesting changes, and enjoyable to listen to.
I suggest you get a singer, and work on giving the music more emotional impact - this would really engage the listener, and make this a fantastic album. I'd also be inclined to make a few of the songs a little shorter, and more to the point (but then again, you do describe it as Prog Rock! :-)
Thanks!
