I think this does not sound bad at all, it sounds good, but it imediately made me think of Nightwish, both the compositions (the way the overall song sounds like) and the voice of the singer (resembles a lot to the voice of Anette Olzon).
There is nothing wrong in sounding like your idols... But sometimes it may be better to be inspired by, rather than sound like.
What more can I say? Just wrote a review on the other "Fading Into Darkness". If I don't want to repeat myself, I can only say that this is - again - an excellent album.
Yes, this is really awesome music! I love the compositions, the variations - both in speed and melody. The lady's voice is soooo beautiful! It is the perfect opposite of the heavy guitars and drums.
What do I mean with that? Well, great music is brought to you (on a silver plate), if a great band like this is in your network.
What more can I say than what others already told? I just L-O-V-E the voice! Can't wait to hear more from you!
"Anything but hopeless" is a long song, over 10 minutes, but it doesn't get boring at all (I think I know what long songs are about... check An Eternal Sunset: EscAlator). There is sooo much to find in this music, so much variation, so many similarities with other music. The last thing you can say, is that this is a copycat exercise! It has a nice main theme and it keeps you listening. It's beautifully layered towards a climax. It all fits together perfectly.
But I miss the point in ...Leaves. It al start well with the piano and the guitar and then the water comes... and comes, and comes again, and leaves... But it takes a bit too long in my opinion. I would have chosen a different 2nd track.
This album really beat my expectations! From the first notes of Arrival, to the last notes of Misantropia. Arrival gave me goosebumps all the way. The different themes and tempo changes in Misantropia reminded me a bit of my own EscAlator (An Eternal Sunset: http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/64832 ).
It all builds upon the heritage of their last single, Summoner of the Wind. It entirely grabs your attention and keeps you listening for more.
Beautiful voice (angelic, really), great arrangements!
Excellent work, guys!
I got to know this album because it was marked as similar to mine (An Eternal Sunset - EscAlator). I already know the previous album.
The vocals are beautiful. The guitars really stand out great and the drums the drums are really powerful.
How come an excellent album like this doesn't get more credit? Only 210 listens and 92 downloads in almost 2 and a half months (april 16th). This album really deserves better!
For some reason this is the kind of music I download the most from Jamendo. With this kind of music, I mean bands like Antarhes, Obsidian Shell, The Way I Am, Dark Hope, Soul In Sadness, ... And I have a new name to add to the list: Magdalen Graal! A great mix between a beautiful voice, a great orchestration and heavy guitars. Count me to your fans!
Guys, you cannot deny that this track sounds really much like Tool. No problem at all: it is a great song. What's more: you prove that a long song isn't synonym for boring. No 3 minute happy radio tune, but something with a story to tell.
