Comprised of musicians hailing from different parts of the country and converging in the midwest, Portocal has been an alternative, powerpop/punk band, based out of Southwest Ohio since October 2007.
Heavily influenced by music of all genres, band members Byron Lewis (Lead Vocals), Ryan Stevenson (Bass Guitar), Sam Hendricks (Drums), and Eric Sunray (Guitar) create intelligent alternative music that, with such a wide variety of influences, anyone can find something to enjoy.
In August of 2008, the group recorded and self-produced their debut EP entitled "Regression" at Group Effort Studios in Covington, KY. with engineer Jeff Monroe (Foxy Shazaam, Marking Twain). Finished EP in hand, the band has been constantly performing throughout the greater Cincinnati area and is steadily generating a local following.
With catchy hooks that still know how to rock, Portocal is a force to be reckoned with and a live experience not to be missed!
