The music is pleasant but unfortunately plagued with technical issues that detract from its enjoyment.
To start with the sound quality is quite low and the recordings are in mono. What makes matters worse is that the music was saved in a stereo format and tracks 1, 2 and 6 have no audio information in the right channel.
I hope that Jazzfixie will make higher quality recordings available in future as I really like this kind of music.
Jaimina I hope you stay young at heart forever!
Charming a cappella that that reminds me of my early childhood years.
This album is not for the feint hearted, it takes commitment to subject yourself to the Pandemic.
Genomik Fuzion starts of with dissonant organ chords progressing into forlorn oboe all designed to leave the listener with a sense of unease. It is only half way through the track that the driving drum beat kicks in and the guitars "rescue" you.
Incubus Phasea also has an unsettling start. Looping guitar chords bouncing around in your head like the voices of the mad. Fortunately relief comes soon in the form of a strong steady beat and warm sounds of woodwind. The battle rages back and forth for a while but in the end the rock steady rhythm prevails. My favorite track on the album.
Destructiv Replika starts with droning organ but soon gets down to the business of being a classic progressive/psychedelic rock track. Hints of Pink Floyd and Mark Knopfler.
State of Shock starts off right away with strong bass notes and guitar accompaniment. This then progresses into an even stronger groove when the drums and organ kick in. Towards the end of the track it becomes more psychedelic.
The album ends leaving you feeling decidedly uneasy.
An excellent album and I hope Irrlicht will return with the vaccine.
A tight professional sound with good vocal talent. Radio friendly but not quite unique enough to be exceptional.
To me it sounds like their music is influenced by Nirvana.
You never know quite what you are going to get when you download a Briovere Buffentis album. All you can be sure about is that it will be a bit weird and definitely not mainstream.
I am not particularly fond of the Hip-Hop themed albums but enjoy Global Warming and Love Shake. Weird World, Weird Music has become my new favorite though.
Expect lots of fuzzy synthesizer bass or electric bass overlaid with pop or rock rhythms. Plenty of use is made of electric guitar, synthesizer and e-piano.
When vocals are used they are heavily processed and more for musical effect than lyrical content. I just couldn't help smiling the first time I head 36 Stages After.
Groove On!
I don't get it. This is basically the identical music to Les mélonaïves N°3 with different track names. Is it meant to be a revision on the original?
Electronically rendered traditional style songs and dances. The biggest shortcoming of this music is that it is not played by a real orchestra.
Some tracks would be better classified as music for film.
On the whole a pleasant easy listening experience.
There is very little cheer in this music ;-)
Late night depressive songs to a laid back groove.
Recommended!
A winning mix of Latin flavored reggae and ska guaranteed to get your body moving.
Most of the tracks on this album are in a Low-Fi garage rock style with good vocals.
The first track "The Classic Sound of Connexion" would have been a perfectly good track if it wasn't ruined by the addition of fake record scratch.
Track 5 "Sun Collapsing" is a jarring change from the garage sound to a higher quality louder instrumental track. I personally think it is out of place on the album.
Track 6 "2011 - Kids Playing in the Garden" is a high quality vocal and piano track. This is my personal favorite on the album.
On the whole the album is an interesting listen with varied styles.
