Ok. Ok. More like "Uno, due"... Mediterranean origin unquestionable. Nice minimal Tech/House with some suprisingly deep dives into Progressive House. At all times strictly dance-floor directed. Partially even a little too melody-oriented for the genre (Italo-touch already taken in account) but very well composed, decently produced and very well-arranged.
just a little short and -despite the well-made breakdown at 1:50- structurally a little too simple. And... you really should have picked the main theme again after the breakdown. Everybody is just waiting for it.
Nice to see some real, professional Psychedelic Trance, here on Jamendo. Really warms my heart! Reminds me (without any thought of plagiarism) a lot to Zen Mechanics. At least the low, fast and extremely bass lines and straight, effective drum section. Seorrowmunk, of course, are somewhat darker but are lacking their melodic ritchess, even if melodic elements as the very well-placed synth at the end of "Vanish and Fear" are doing a pretty good job, I sense a little "fear of melodies", here.
Still great and pretty massive psychedelic trance, though I had loved to hear a little more variation. The first four tracks are very much the same scheme - number five, "Little" is quite surprising, indeed, but Depeche Mode remixes are not exactly a novelty anymore - nevertheless, "Little" is nicely crafted and really originally made, it's while still powerful even pretty funny.
Yeah, that good, old Electribe still has a lot of power. One of Korg's best shots straight after the Polysix. Nice composition, powerful rhythmic section, just a little vague in the middle in my eyes.
The 2nd time ever that I am rating a track 10/10.
Never mind that some parts of the instrumentation sound as smooth and pleasant as eating a year's supply of chocolate bars at once. I don't even care that at least 3 instruments toward the end of the track are introduced without real need or use. Normally this makes me instantly dump a track. Not this one, anyway: it's basic 2 bar progression is solid enough to be considered indistructable and perfect to a level where it can't get tainted by any earthly substance, It is indeed minimized to the maximum, timed perfectly and with any repetition gets you more hooked on it.
Sounds like bunch of Electribes on speed. Lots of energy and literally "House Music" as unspoiled as it gets. However, a little mastering might do well.
I'd highly recommend a sidechain compressor on the synth, triggered by the kick drum for the full "french touch". Consider it for the full album which I hope to be listening to soon.
There is not much left to expect - this is actually one of these albums you put on when arguing with "free music does not provide the quality of 'professional' work" types. Production, composition and arrangement are as perfect as lounge music actually gets. Funky, consistent, every note an understatement for itself the whole album decently stays in the background unless you decide to focus on it, which is well worth doing.
...and nice Rhodes piano, by the way :)
The first track features a powerful back line, and interesting bleeps. Nice track, though I'd given it a little more focus on the rhythmic section and less breaks.
The second one shows a pretty good, dominating bassline, minimal but effective. Again I miss some consequence in it. Instead of keeping up and altering in one or two ways, the bassline -which is definitely driving the track- is taken away in favour of two long breaks that are just not emphasized enough to save the track's consistence.
Same with the third. The theme and all of its elements are pretty good, just the overall arrangement gives away a lot of power, density withing the breaks is missing as well as any alternation of the bassline.
After all "Metamorphose" is really worth listening, but it left me somewhat unsatisfied.
Very creative handling of a "standard" rock guitar progression, maybe a little undecided in it's way through several different states of tension during overall playtime.
The mix down could profit from a little makeover - especially the upward compression in the rhythmic section sounds way over the top to me - just my 5 technical cents for the full length album which I hope we will get to listen soon.
