Im already a fan of Johnny Hoodoo and this collection is a good compendium of what he can do.His love for the old time blues and ragtime is apparent.He plays it from the heart and it sounds the real deal.I know a few of these tunes already from scratchy old records and Johnny doesn't try to do a note for note copy.He does them his way while keeping the authentic old time feel.There is finger picking here,banjo here,resonator guitar and a truly authentic vocal style that boggles the mind when one realizes that this guy is from Stirling in Scotland.I will be looking forward to more from Johnny Hoodoo.
