Well, the Toota has been steeping himself pretty deep in the CC dub sounds, and this album really rises up (from the dead :-P). As much as the "America is screwed up" theme is almost becoming cliche, I love it, and Magwaman pulls it off nice with the first track, which creepily begins with school kids singing "The Eyes of Texas Are Upon You". Use of interesting samples is a big plus on this one. I like the down-dark mood that the vocals give to "Mandatory". I felt I just didn't get the meaning behind "Moaning For Colombine"; it felt like they were tring to make fun of the incident to me. Often when I'm listening to electronically-mixed music, some of the mixing catches me in the wrong way, but I never got hung here, and it didn't bore me either, so I'd say that's pretty darn tootin'. Thanks for sharing !
This album moves along nicely. I really love the ending of it, where things rock out from the chill with wailing guitars and crazy breakbeats; that got me making some wierd acompanyment sounds. Thanks for sharing !
