Sometimes I feel that it's a pity that I skrewed up learning french in school. I would like to know what "Am Un Bade" is about. Without it this knowledge it's still big fun listening to this track. There are traditional folk elements in there, with some punk, rock and experimental influences. (Not only in the 2nd track of the album, but in all of them.)
If you're looking for something traditional, this is probably nothing for your, but if you've an open mind and like to explore new kinds of music, this is for you.
Now look at me: I always said I didn't like "Trip Hop" and similar styles, and here I am, writing a review. Yes, this album is damn good. I love the samples, the beats and the atmosphere this creates. It's relaxing and energetic at the same time.
My favorite track is "Tibetan monks playing fuzzy bass tablas". The voices of the monks are awesome!
I like closing my eyes while listening to some of the tracks, for example "Entering the Mummy Grave (lo-fi dusty dub mix)". The soundscape really creates the image of a dusty, long lost mummy grave on a very hot day in egypt.

EN: This is one of the first albums I came across while discovering jamendo. The music is really great, I still enjoy listening to it. "Valdescabres" gives me goose bumps because of its' exciting mix, and I would like to dance to "Trasmerana" in a club one day.
But, I hate to admit it, there is a small glitch that kept me from reviewing it so far. I think that the sound is too shrill sometimes, especially when being played at a high volume. I even created a equaliser setting with reduced treble. But of course this album would be much more enjoyable if this wouldn't be necessary.
Anyway I hope to here more from you people!
DE: Das ist eines der ersten Alben, die ich hier gefunden habe, und die ich nach wie vor gerne höre. Die Mischung der Instrumente ist gut gelungen und macht mir bei "Valdescabres" eine Gänsehaut, während ich zu "Trasmerana" mal gerne im Club tanzen möchte.
Von der Abmischung ist mir das Album jedoch zu hochtönig, wenn man die Lautstärke mal hochdreht klingt es schnell schrill.
Auch wenn ich mittlerweile eine recht breite Palette unterschiedlicher Musikstile höre, ist hart und elektronisch immer noch mein liebstes Kind. Und hier bekommt man beides in einer erfrischenden Verpackung gereicht.
Zwar ist die Mischung aus E-Gitarre und Synthi nichts Neues mehr, aber hier macht es die Mischung, die ich persönlich schwer zu beschreiben finde.
Irgendwas zwischen "Lacrimosa", "Das Ich" und vielleicht ein Hauch "Deine Lakaien", rund gemacht mit einer ganz eigenen Note.
Und das ganze extrem tanzbar. Na dann herzlich willkommen in meiner Playlist!
If you're sitting on the couch, watching the weather on a cloudy, rainy or even stormy day, this is pretty much the music you want to listen too.

It's kind of soothing, with a melancholic touch. If you like EBM and/or industrial, you probably will enjoy listening to these tracks, too. They are neither fast nor hard, but are a lovely and well done addition the your collection.
Dieses Album irgendwo einzusortieren fällt mir schwer, dafür hat es seinen ganz einfachen Stil. Und immer, wenn man glaubt, das passende Genre gefunden zu haben, springt es aus der Schublade direkt in die nächste.
Teilweise fühle ich mich an "And One" erinnert, an anderen Stellen wirkt es völlig eigenständig. Von der Qualität her ist es recht relaxed, mit melancholischen Einschlägen.
Es läßt sich sowohl nett im Hintergrund hören, oder einfach so zum geniessen.
It's not easy for me to place this album into any category. It has its own style, which includes the change of styles at points where this is quite unexpected.
It sounds relaxed, with some melancholic influences. It is good to listen to as background music, but you won't regret listen to it with both ears and all your mind. :-)
Das ist ein hervorragendes Debüt-Album. Es hat seinen eigenen Stil, der das Hören echt interessant macht. Umgekehrt kann man es auch mal als entspannte "Hintergrundmusik" hören, die allerdings nie langweilig wird. Dadurch eignet es sich sowohl zum konzentrierten anhören, oder aber als musikalische Untermalung.
This is a great debut with its own style. It's great to just sit down and listen to it, but it's nice for some stylish background music that doesn't get annoying after some time.
