I'm not one to go actively looking for piano albums due to the fact that they can be done very wrong. I have listened to solo pianists that could only keep my attention for 30 seconds, but Rob Costlow is very different. There's really nothing new to say about this album that hasn't been said in the other reviews. I'm certainly downloading his other album and may just buy the CDs!
I was never very much into ska/punk, but I decided to try your album anyway. The production probably could be better, but that's to be expected from a beginning EP. Sometimes I think the guitars get in the way of the horns in some songs, but maybe that's just me. Anyway, everything I found to be really good. Too bad your new album probably won't be on jamendo.
I started using jamendo today, somewhat skeptical that people making free music as a hobby could make anything worthwhile.
Nevertheless, I headed straight for the progressive and metal sections and found your album. I downloaded it, expecting an "ok" album with basement production, but I was blown away! You sound like what would happen if Liquid Tension Experiment had continued and evolved. This album totally gave me hope for free, independent artists and music. Keep up the great work!
