"nicht nur für Rap-Fans geeignet."
In der Tat! Von futuristisch über rockig bis klassisch und vor allem stets erfrischend anders. Ich bin beeindruckt - glatte 10! (Da werden auch die Beastie Boys nicht schlecht gestaunt haben...)
"wasted time" überzeugt mit aggressiven Gitarrenriffs. "in the end" beginnt ruhig und zieht dann unheimlich mit. Kurz: Zwei Rock-Songs, die Lust auf mehr machen.
and then it gets progressive somehow. "Barracuda" is so strong to justify 10 points on its own.
Christlich? Jesus? Spirits? Da kam bei mir erstmal Skepsis auf. Gut daß ich trotzdem noch reingehört habe. Rein musikalisch gesehen ist das ein richtig starkes Album. Da kommt viel rüber - da merkt man, die Leute stehen 120% hinter dem was sie machen - und dann entsteht Musik, wie sie sein soll.
“We don't play pop music,..." Actually, the first thing that came to my mind was "what beautiful pop music". Anyway, whatever you call what you did, you did it very well!
This is mostly tough straightforward rock without frills. The guitars produce lots of heavy metal, but if you don't give up and keep on listening, you'll be rewarded with some slightly calmer and IMO stronger, more melodious, rock songs. These start with "Somebody" and go on till the end.
Musik hat nicht in erster Linie etwas mit Soundqualität zu tun, sondern mit Melodie und Rhythmus im weitesten Sinne.
Wenn man dann ausgerechnet noch experimetelle Musik erschaffen möchte, braucht man nicht etwa weniger, sondern eher noch viel mehr Musikverständnis bzw. -gefühl. (Varèse, Stravinsky, Zappa, ...)
Ansonsten lautet das wirkliche Experiment bloß: "Kann ich denn wenigstens computergestützt musizieren, wenn ich denn weder Fingerfertigkeit noch sonst irgendeinen Dunst habe?"
Das Ergebnis ist (vorhersehbarerweise) immer ähnlich: Mehr als langweilig wird es nicht - da hilft auch die beste "Musik"software und/oder Soundqualität nix.
The combination of classical sounds (almost resembling church music) and an atonal e-guitar feels rather unusual, so I think these compositions are challenging for the listener, at least they are for me ;-) But it is exactly for listening to unusual music why I came to Jamendo in the first place.
My favorite tracks are "Malicious doll", "Matrix", and "Sands of Arabia".
On the other hand, parts of some tracks (most notably in "Your whims") sound almost a bit like kitsch in my ears. After all, music is also a matter of taste, I guess.
if one believes this would be (guitar) music. Perhaps it's just me who can't find access to this type of tootling. All I can hear on this album comes down to cheap showmanship.
