The first track sounds like a smoldering opening number for a film: wistful, yet atmospheric and full of anticipation.
It's been a long time since I paid any attention to commercial music, but this is no run-of-the-mill stuff trying to make a fast buck at the market place. I wish there was less of the rubbish that hits the music stores, and more of talents like Chill Carrier who dare experiment and break new ground.
I used to listen to this UK band called The Blue Nile, especially on rainy nights.
They played a smooth saxy mix of jazz and soul that kept testing boundaries and breaking out of easy classification.
This album reminds me of their very famous album, Hats.
Cinematic, close my eyes and I see images of a film I haven't shot.
I especially like On the Beach - the ambient takes me far far away!
I love the shifting nuances yet tightly woven vision of this album. Guitar rifts that seem to meander nowhere but which ultimately take me to a quiet place. When was the last time indie music felt this good?
John Williams' grandeur, coupled with James Newton Howard's emotional vulnerability. My goodness, if this is not awesome, I dun know what is!
Music is universal, but I have found so many resonant moments in your music that are identifiably Asian in their sensibilities. Maybe it's because the music took me on a journey during which I revisited my own life experiences. I have listened to all three albums, and I am truly impressed. The music became soundtracks for the different stages of my life!
Life Path's an understated album that deserves an audience. Eclectic, masterful and every track took me on a journey.
Felt meets shoegazing magic. Btw, are you guys from Singapore? Thought I heard CJC on one of the tracks. Masterful
Listening to the album, I felt at so many points as if I was watching Lord of The Rings Redux. Awesome music. I am a filmmaker looking for composers for my feature length project, and I would seriously consider working with you.
